Health Fitness Tips That Help You Stay in Shape

One of the biggest competitions of today is staying fit. It seems like people nowadays want to lose weight instantly as if there is no tomorrow or it is as if it is a passport for the general population. Losing weight and staying fit is never easy. Following health fitness tips requires a lot of behavioral changes to be able to attain the desired fitness. With modern technology and medications, weight loss treatments have sprouted everywhere like grass and weeds in a garden. Due to its high demand, statistics show that up to 40 to 50 billion US dollars are spent annually for weight loss alone. Together with unproven medications containing dangerous components, health fitness tips have also swarmed the Internet, for determined followers to turn to. They either have to take in the pill or follow a lenient lifestyle modification.

The main factors that help one lose weight are diet and lifestyle. Diet, more than anything, dictates the shape of one's figure. With today's rampant fast food chains, food may just be as sinful as it can be. Some simple tips on diet may help with a few instructions. What ought to be eliminated initially on one's diet is red meat. Red meat is hard to resist as they come in different displays such as mouth-watering burgers and the like but risks of certain health conditions are linked to consumption of red meat. Since red meat is high in purine, daily consumption of red meat can lead to gout. Red meat is also high on fats, which may eventually help in faulty weight gain. Instead, eat fish meat, chicken or turkey meat. Health Fitness tips also recommends eating baked, grilled, broiled or boiled foods instead of fried ones. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables are also in the list of Health Fitness tips. Only be sure that the dressing is not high on caloric count otherwise, the healthy green is pointless.

Health fitness tips also point to lifestyle modification. Diet always come hand in hand with exercise to obtain maximum effect of fitness. Exercise comes in a very broad range personalized for different body mass indexes but the main point in exercise is to slowly increase the workload as time progresses. Health fitness tip number one on exercise is to stretch first before the workout. Strenuous exercise can produce too much lactic acid in the muscles, which will then cause muscular pains. Another health fitness tip on exercise is to prevent doing the same exercise over and over. Eventually, when the body adjusts to the activity, it is recommended to increase or change the exercise regimen to explore different ways of maximizing body potential.

Health fitness tips also recommend that vices should be stopped. Smoking predisposes one to vascular conditions such as arteriosclerosis and heart diseases. Alcohol consumption need not be eliminated but should be limited to 30 jiggers a day only. Alcohol still has health benefits such as vasodilation. These are just some of what Health fitness tips recommend.

There are tons of health fitness tips but diet and lifestyle modification are the basic steps to a healthy lifestyle and fitness.

"Health Fitness Equipment" Doesn't Really Focus On Health, Does It?

"Health fitness equipment" is a tricky phrase. When you first see it, it probably makes a whole lot of sense. Health is derived from fitness and fitness is developed by using equipment, right? Well, not really... in fact, you could become really fit and never touch a piece of gym equipment for the rest of your life.

Another aspect to this phrase is the word "health." On the whole, semantics and philosophies set aside - most people see fitness as health, and believe when they get fit - they are now healthy. As I have pointed out in previous articles, health always comes before fitness and fitness must be attained in order to maintain health. Sounds a little confusing, doesn't it? In fact, sounds like a play on words, with a hint of nonsense thrown in for good measure I imagine. I admit there's an air of silliness when explaining this principle, however, as silly as it may sound - it is 100% true.

Health is made up of several factors, with fitness playing its part as well. However, in order to maintain great health, you have to create health on the inside first, which will then flow outwards to your physical form. This is why the phrase "health fitness equipment" is so lop-sided. It only focuses on the equipment used in fitness workouts - that's it. How about the phrase "health" equipment? Is there such a thing? Absolutely!

When I hear the phrase "health equipment" I think of juicers, blenders, food processors, skin brushes, Sisal gloves, etc. The only problem is when everyone else hears it - they don't think of the same stuff! My brother used to be a telephone field technician for over 10 years, and he said he must've visited almost every single house and building in his area of the city where he worked. In his time there he noticed, almost every single home or apartment he stepped into had at least one piece of workout equipment in it. At the same time, he almost never saw a juicer and if he saw a blender, it either had a fine layer of dust on it or it was placed right next to the alcohol where drinks were made. That was literally the extent of the health equipment in peoples' homes, and we wonder why disease is running rampant, as more and more of us succumb to heart disease, cancer and all rest.

Type in the phrase "health fitness equipment" into any search engine and you'll get back a ton of sites dedicated to showing all the best stationary bikes, elliptical machines, and stair masters on the planet. Don't get me wrong, all this stuff is cool and it has real value... but it isn't necessary and it isn't as important as what you put into your body first. You can put your money together and buy a great food processor or blender that you'll use many times to create healthy, nutritious meals; instead of using a bunch of equipment at the gym you have to wait and fight for or buying a piece of equipment that ends up becoming a second closet.

It's just as easy to go to a local park or building and climb the stairs there, rather than using a stair master in a gym with stale air. In fact, it's probably better. You're outside and breathing in the fresh air if you're in the park. If you're climbing up the stairs of a building you get to use the elevator on the way down after your workout - what can beat that?! Seriously, getting "Fit" in America has become synonymous with expensive, and it doesn't have to be. In all honesty, the bulk of your "wellness budget" will probably go on your food - it shouldn't be going towards the equipment you use to become and stay fit.

Legendary salesman Zig Ziglar was famous for saying, "Never settle for the 'get-by' when in the long run, the good costs less." When you buy quality products, they work better and last longer and that's the kind of value most of us look for when we're considering a purchase. Why settle for a stationary bike in a gym, when you can buy a quality bike and go riding outside where you can see real people and real sites. Why go to a gym to walk on a treadmill when you can strap on your sneakers and walk around your neighborhood and go meet new people see great visuals in your own background.

Am I against gyms and fitness equipment? Hardly, I think everything has its place. But I also know that there are many more overweight people in America today than there are people who aren't, and this is with an explosion in gyms, gym memberships and new fitness equipment. We've forgotten the reason we get fit is to be able to be more active. To be able to go do whatever activity we want to, including sexual activity as well. Too many men are falling prey to this belief that their male mojo withers away by the time they reach their 40's... are you kidding me? If you're eating correctly, staying active, and are physically and mentally fit - you should be ready to rock and roll whenever the moment presents itself. This goes for women as well.

If we are going to focus on phrases like "health fitness equipment," than I believe we need to do with the proper perspective. Let's get into "health" first, build that up and get fit in the process. There's never been a time in history when so much has been available to us to be able to get into the best physical and mental shape, any generation before us has ever seen. Take advantage of it and get busy building up your health and fitness... in the proper order of course.

Pride

I have this thing that boils inside me when I think I am wronged.
Pride!
I hate pride. I'm not a fan of it, but it grabs on to me like a leech, slowly sucking the life out of me. Not really, but I am a completely different person when I'm battleing with pride.
I was suppose to start my juice fast today, but pride got in the way. I haven't spoke to my co-worker, because pride is in the way. It's my feeling of needing to be mad for the sake of being wronged, whether that person knows or not.
Pride... Is something I need to give to God, but that would mean admitting I'm in the wrong. I don't want to be in the wrong.
Wow, long tangent/rant....
Do you struggle with pride?

Living upside down

I feel a little bit of relief at the end of the tunnel.
I've been running around, being busy.
Im glad I don't work tomorrow. I need a break. I also need some me time. Wishful thinking. I also need to forgive some people I have no desire to forgive, even though they haven't asked forgiveness... I still need to!

Are you swamped down by things. Or are you finding time to recharge?

Sick, Fat, & Nearly Dead - A Review

Wow, I know I'm sensitive and emotional. But, this movie really made me take a step back. In a good way.

A little background, I knew the benefits of eating a micronutrient diet, but I didn't want to go through the process of changing.

Synopsis from Netflix:
"Focusing on two men whose bodies have been trashed by steroids, obesity and illness, this documentary chronicles the rigorous healing path -- including a two-month diet of fruits and vegetables -- that both attempt in a bid to rescue their health."

I don't have much to say about it except for every American who is struggling with their weight in any way should watch this documentary. It isn't ever boring, and it's inspirational. I'm not saying everyone needs to go buy a juicer, but we should start viewing food in a different light.

Side note: I know in a previous post I talked about giving up netflix, but I decided to start saying no and doing other things. And, I have! I think something every once in a awhile I can handle. But, when it is taking up all of my free time, I have to say enough is enough!

This movie has really jump started my desire to do at least a mini fast. Next week, my church has 3 days of prayer and fasting, and I think a 3 day juice fast would be perfect! So, I'm getting my hands on a juicer, saving my pennies and will do some grocery shopping this Saturday and Sunday to prepare for my 3 day juice fast! I know I can do it, and I know 3 days is a short time, but, with me trying to save money, it's a good place to start!

Anyone else see Sick, Fat, & Nearly Dead? What were your thoughts? Did you like it? Hate it? Have you done any juice fasting? I'd love to hear from you!
